Christine McCart, Spearfish, SD State Advocate
I have lived all over South Dakota and love the great diversity of amazing outdoor places here! My overall mission is to promote outdoor ethics education with our residents and visitors that informs the head, inspires the heart, and reaches out a hand. My goal as State Advocate is to help connect people to education materials and educators as well as to promote community and connection among people and organizations that care about the outdoors.
As a bonus, I coordinate the outdoor education program at Black Hills State University in Spearfish and my students are all Leave No Trace trainers and need leadership hours! On the side I’m working on my PhD in experiential education and studying ethical and moral development.
