Wes Hoskins, Reno, NV State Advocate
Nevada wilderness holds some of the best kept secrets in the west. But this state has seen the largest population growth of any state in the last twenty years. Visitors who love traveling Nevada’s basins and ranges have to understand the impact of every choice they make while camping here. I try to instill an awareness of responsibility during my trips . Knowing the best possible actions in every possible situation will bring backcountry users the ultimate freedom. Public lands are owned by all of us, the people of America, and if we respect them the way respect our own property then agencies who steward Nevada’s resources won’t have to enact stricter regulations and closures that hamper truly wild experiences.
