Heather Day, Missoula, Montana State Advocate
Hi everyone, I'm Heather, your new Montana State Advocate. I'm a native of Maine, and got my start with Leave No Trace working with the Appalachian Mountain Club in the White Mountains of New Hampshire after college—and those mountains and forests will always hold a special place in my heart!
Currently, I am slated to finish my MS in Environmental Studies from the University of Montana in May of 2011 with a focus in Wilderness stewardship partnerships. I am the Conservation Awards Associate at the National Forest Foundation in Missoula, Montana, and have served on the Board of Directors of the National Wilderness Stewardship Alliance since its inception in 2010.
I am most at home with a pack on my back, but will jump on any chance I can get to canoe, mountain bike, and rock climb, too. I look forward to working with you all in the beautiful state of Montana.
