Skip Essman, Montgomery, AL State Advocate
As advocate for the "Heart of Dixie" state I have worked with over 100 Trainers and Master Educators. We have spoken with scouts, scouters, hiking groups and with state parks to start Leave No Trace programs.
I enjoy hosting all types of training. I have hosted training for the Appalachian Trail Club of Alabama, the Alabama Hiking Trail Society and the Traveling Trainers at Coleman in Foley. I've helped arrange for Master Instructors to teach Leave No Trace at the Southeastern Foot Trails Coalition Conference held at Table Rock State Park in 2005. In September 2006 we will be participating at an outdoor expo in Oak Mountain State Park with other outdoor enthusiasts. There is expected to be about 10,000 participants. I hope to make the most impact on Alabama by constantly talking to high-level government officials here in Montgomery.
